We created a project for philosophy and it uses some clips of audio from music tracks, youtube has muted it which ruins the whole thing! Is there anyway i can put something in the discription saying i dont own the music that will stop them from doing this again?

Youtube removed because it violates the copyright, because you do not have rights to use it, because you can do is take away piece by piece and place it, or put a song that is not protected by copyright.

Unfortunately, no, because, as you pointed out: You don’t own the music.

Therefore, you can’t use it in a video; that would be copyright infringement, and they don’t like that.

Youtube scans the audio, and if it matches the audio pattern of a copyrighted song, then it mutes the audio. There’s no way to avoid that.

If you actually owned the audio (ie. You created it completely, not just that you own the CD), you could dispute the claim, or if the clips were short enough (less than 15 seconds each, I believe), then you might be able to dispute it under fair use laws, but… Other than that, no.

My suggestion would be to post it somewhere other than youtube. If you just want to be able to access the file from somewhere else, then there are some sites that let you host files for limited a limited time, and you’d be able to download it from them…

    Try
    http://www.yousendit.com
    http://www.mailbigfile.com

There are more similar sites, you can ‘email’ the file to yourself, and then download it again somewhere else for a few days.

    Alternatively, try:

That’s a list of 31 other sites that are similar in nature to Youtube, if you post it on one of those, it’s possible they don’t scan as much or as successfully as Youtube.

maybe get the tune from youtube and use it in your video.. might just work..

quite a lot of samples tunes on utube.. do a search at youtube

    this will help you…Use ‘zillatube’.

It is very easy to download videos, and it downloads fast too..

Then you can convert youtube videos into the music mp3 music (and other formats too) with zillatube. This is the fastest way.

Then use windows movie maker(inside your windows machine) to add them to video.

    It works very well –
