There are devices that can detect &quot;bugs&quot; but they are expensive if you can find them for sale to the public.  This is also the same for &quot;bugs&quot;.  If money is not object hire a private eye to find out what the ex is up to.  If money is an issue, tell her to be more aware of her surroundings.  When you start paying attention to everything around you (people and things) you are less at risk to be a victim.
